Trump Damage Report – 9/1/2017
Wikipardon, Arpaio is real, crying Nazi jokes, donation claims, under trial for laughing (again), Budget Weasel Bio, resignation 983,409th, Knox flight, DACA obliviousness, failed Qusay slams, and but her emails. All this and more in your daily Trump Damage Report for Friday, September 1st, 2017.
- Discussion of pardoning Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who cooperated extensively with Russian intelligence efforts to swing the election to Trump, is worrying the American intelligence community, The Hill reports.
- Trump is flaunting his indifference to the rule of law, New York Magazine reports. The pardoning of racist Joe Arpaio who ran concentration camps for immigrants in the United States, is not something Trump is ashamed of.
- When making a documentary about Joe Arpaio, the documentary film crew wanted to quit, and audiences thought they were watching a mockumentary, The Daily Beast reports. Arpaio’s actions could be prosecuted under violations of the Geneva Convention as crimes against humanity. He ran atrocity camps in the Southwest United States for decades.
- The “crying Nazi” that Trump included in his equivalency statement about Charlottesville has said that he was totally just kidding about killing all the Jews, The Daily Beast reports. Because nothing says “LOL J/K! ROFLMAO” like “Arbeit Macht Frei”, right?
- Former aides to Trumpist lawmaker Todd Rokita of Indian tell about pay cuts for small mistakes, staffers in tears, and a hostile, toxic work environment, The Associated Press reports.
- Trump’s ghost-writer for Art of the Deal says there’s no way that Trump donates $1 million to Harvey victims, The Hill reports. True. We’re waiting on him to fulfill the other promises he’s made, which have all been lies up to this point. Additionally, Trump has not so great of a history with charities.
- Trump’s voter suppression committee is lead by someone who is a paid columnist for Breitbart, Kris Kobach, Shareblue reports. If there were an ethics enforcement of any kind in the Trump administration, this would not stand. There isn’t.
- Jeff “Klan Keebler” Sessions will once again put a woman on trial who laughed at him, HuffPost reports.
- Politico offers a more comprehensive look at Trump’s budget weasel, Mick Mulvaney. Mulvaney is tasked with taking Trump’s brain farts about fiscal policy and crapping out something that resembles policy. The bulk of it is predicated around screwing the poor, while providing an opportunity for Trump to personally enrich himself.
- Another longtime Trump aide, Keith Schiller, is telling people he intends to leave the Trump administration, CNN reports. Serving in the Trump administration so far is a very high-turnover industry, like prison guard or infectious materials disposal services.
- The Treasury inspector general is reviewing Steve Mnuchin’s flight to Fort Knox, which his wife infamously bragged about on Instagram, The Washington Post reports.
- Trump is pulling back on his threat to shut down the government over funding for his stupid border wall, for now, The Washington Post reports. He has not suggested how the wall might be able to defeat a rarely discussed Mexican technology: ladders. The Mongolians, who conquered all of China, may have some counsel on this matter.
- Russian election hacking efforts which are more widespread than previously suspected, are drawing very little scrutiny or concern, The New York Times reports. If we pretend it isn’t a problem, will it go away?
- Roy Moore, Trumpist Republican in Alabama, does not know what DACA is, The Washington Examiner reports. He is the frontrunner for Senator.
- Trump’s lapdog Paul Ryan is asking him to hold off on scrapping DACA, CNN reports. Trump won’t. He hates brown people. A lot.
- Special Counsel Robert Mueller has an early draft of Trump’s letter (penned by fascist Miller) that gives the reasons for firing James Comey, The New York Times reports.
- Kruggers dives in on taxation and the Trump meandering “tax plan”, which is all about cutting corporate taxes, in Monopoly Rents and Corporate Taxation at The New York Times.
- Obama’s top lawyer tells us that Mueller has assembled the best team in “history”, MSNBC reports. It’s an all-star who’s who of experts on money laundering prosecution, financial criminal investigations, bribery, and every illegal pie into which Trump has a finger stuck.
- Qusay Trump tried to call out CNN on his father’s supposed generosity, HuffPost reports. He said “Let’s see if CNN acknowledges this incredible generosity”, which they had three hours before the idiot Trumpling posted his tweet. Trump has not donated any money to Harvey victims. Trump has said he would donate money to Harvey victims. Trump says a lot of things.
- An egregious Trumpist apologist in Congress, Representative Ron DeSenatis, would like to shut down all Trump investigations but go ahead and investigate everyone else, ThinkProgress reports.
